End Gender Apartheid in Afghanistan

How can we stand by as the basic human rights of women and girls are systematically denied in Afghanistan?

Our project, “Campaign to End Gender Apartheid in Afghanistan,” is a collaborative initiative between Politics4Her and Associazione Solidarietà Donne per le Donne (ASDD). The campaign aims to raise global awareness, advocate for international condemnation, and promote the legal recognition of gender apartheid as a crime against humanity.

Since August 2021, when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, women and girls have faced severe restrictions on their freedom and rights. From education to employment, their opportunities have been drastically limited. This project was initiated to address and combat these injustices on a global scale.

Objectives:

Amplify global awareness of ongoing gender apartheid in Afghanistan through a targeted social media campaign.
Obtain international condemnation of gender apartheid as a crime against humanity.
Promote the recognition and codification of gender apartheid as a crime against humanity within international law.

This campaign is crucial in highlighting the severe human rights violations faced by women and girls in Afghanistan. By bringing global attention to these issues, we aim to foster international solidarity and prompt decisive action from governments and international organizations. Recognizing gender apartheid in international law will establish a framework to address and prevent such atrocities in the future.
