How to promote peace in a society? Peace is a state of not being at war. Peace means harmonious relations, reconciliation, concord, safety, and security. Peace can be defined personally and socially. Peace promotion is an important and debatable issue which needs a lot of discussions and research, but in this essay, I want to explore the three main factors in peace promotion. Peace will be promoted by education, social justice and an advanced economy.
Fundamentally, education is an element which can promote peace because education is the basis of a developed society. Having high quality education promotes not only peace but also it changes a country from every side. Education raises awareness, changes individuals thoughts, and decreases prejudice. Education promotes international connection and raises the ability of individuals and groups to solve problems. As experiences showed, a society high in educational qualities is less in violation and discrimination because everyone finds a better way of solving problems. Overall, a society with high educational quality is more successful in promoting peace.
Additionally, social justice is another prominent factor in promoting peace. Peace can be achieved by social justice because it will create a steady society. A high social justice society will have more security because when people behave in a fair way, they won’t protest or be violent. Social justice involves equity through opportunities for people, access to services, respect for human rights and elimination of discrimination.
Finally, an advanced economy is the foundation of every single developed society. As it is obvious for all, poverty and economic inequity is the basis of violation, so an advanced economy causes job opportunities, poverty reduction and increasing life quality. For example, now there is no good economic situation in Afghanistan, and it results in war and misfortunes. When people are confident about their future and economic situation, there will be less thieves or jobless people. All in all, the better the economic situation in a society is, the better people can live and improve.
To sum up, education, social justice and an advanced economy are the three main bridges to approach a peaceful society. These three factors are like the three wheels of a tricycle because each one is needed to keep peace moving forward. We all wish for a peaceful world, let’s come together to make it a reality.
