Life has a lot of ups and downs. Yet all of the challenges I have faced make my life beautiful. When we have dreams and goals , we can not ‘lose’. My life has had many obstacles and I want to share with you three of them.
When I was fourteen years old my parents went to another city in my country. When they left, I took all the responsibilities. I could not manage to do all the work, and my grandfather is a difficult person to take care of. When my parents came back, I was very happy and more relaxed since they were able to help with these challenges I had to manage on my own.
The second challenge I came across was when the Taliban captured our country. When they took over, we were so frightened. My neighbor said, “I can’t go outside all the time, and you must stay at home. When you go outside, the Taliban kill all your family.” For three months, we could not go anywhere. After these months, we fled to another city. When we arrived, we did not see any women, which led us to having more fear. After a long time, little by little, we went to school and we could go to relatives’ houses. The Taliban’s imposition of new rules made it law that girls must wear veils and Mahram, along with many other rules they put in place.
Lastly, another challenge I want to share is when I signed up to work at the medical institute. When I signed up, my father said, go and my mother said, no you can’t go because the Taliban collects girls. At that time, the Taliban collected the girls. After five days, when I went to the institute all the girls came. They said, “do not be afraid”.
We always would come to the class. Life has a lot of challenges and has lots of ups and downs. With these challenges we can solve the problems. However, facing problems in our lives will be solved by our resilience as humans, having faith above, and fighting for our rights.
Thank you for reading my story.
Sincerely,
Esin
